We decided that we would make Lillian’s second birthday an experience vs a giant birthday party like we did for her first birthday. Ethan and I both have been to Disney World but we were around Lillian’s age and wanted to go back. If you have not been, and even if you don’t LOVE Disney….go!! It was one of the best times we’ve had as a family and so many amazing memories! I definitely cried a few times watching Lillian get so
dang excited and especially when she finally got to meet Mickey Mouse. She hugged him for a good two minutes! haha. She did not want to let him go. I think she got to meet every character and not once did she freak out, so it was so worth it taking her at this age.
So we started planning in the summer and I ended up getting a Disney Travel Agent, if you’ve never been and super nervous to figure out all the planning – get one!! They are free to use and ours was amazing. I gave her a list of all the things we wanted to do and places we wanted to eat out, she booked it all!
It was nice to not have to worry or stress about any of that. Now once we got to Disney, I did move a few things around that worked best with our schedule with a two year old – but everything flowed nicely. We made sure to take a break midday for nap time for the crazy girl and relax our feet.
I definitely spent more time planning all of Lillian’s daily outfits then actually planning the vacation! LOL. She may or may not have even had two outfits a day on some days! 😉 I had them planned by whatever park we were going to and who she would be meeting that day. Oh, and I think I forgot to mention – we were during Halloween time! It was such a blast and I want to go during Christmas time (or at least when it is decorated for Christmas).
We did the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party the day before actual Halloween since it was a little cheaper on ticket price. It was on a Sunday and it was our break day from the parks since we had 5 day passes and then the party tickets. So we drove to Tampa to visit some friends we hadn’t seen in awhile. It was nice to get a break from all the walking and hustle of Disney for the day. Lillian went as Cinderella and I was so excited since I worked pretty hard on making her costume! I even bought her a cute tiara but totally forgot about it the day of lol! Oops.
I can’t wait to plan another vacation to Disney, Lillian loves looking at all the photos and videos – still getting excited about! You can see more of our photos on instagram!
